Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) September 30, 2015
StraighterLine, a leader in providing low-cost, online general education courses, has partnered with Northwestern Health Sciences University to provide flexible degree completion options for college students. As part of the articulation agreement, Northwestern will allow students to transfer courses from StraighterLine’s affordable, self-paced, online courses.
Located in Bloomington, Minnesota, Northwestern Health Sciences University occupies 300,000 square feet on 25 scenic acres and offers degrees from the Associate to the Doctoral level in the College of Chiropractic and the College of Health and Wellness. This regionally accredited institution has been cited in Minnesota statute as a research institution, along with the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic, and is the largest provider of natural healthcare services in Minnesota.
Of the partnership, StraighterLine founder and CEO Burck Smith says, “Now, students interested in healthcare-related fields have the option of obtaining their degree at Northwestern and transferring in courses from StraighterLine while saving money and taking on less student loan debt. Northwestern Health Sciences University and StraighterLine are helping students pursue their education and ultimately their careers in the field of health sciences—for a fraction of the price and on their own schedules.”
"At Northwestern, we strive to remove obstacles and provide flexible options for our students to complete their degrees,” says Dr. Dale Healey, Interim Dean, College of Health and Wellness. “So I am very excited about the new articulation between Northwestern and StraighterLine because it helps us achieve those goals. The high quality online courses provided by StraighterLine transfer seamlessly, giving our students an excellent option to fulfill some of their degree requirements at a very low cost. I am confident that this relationship will clear the path for many students to become tomorrow's health care providers."

About StraighterLine
StraighterLine solves the #1 issue facing students today – the skyrocketing cost of college – with low-cost online courses that prepare students for success. StraighterLine combines a $99 a month course subscription with guaranteed credit pathways to accredited degree programs to save students up to 60% on the total cost of their degree. More than 10,000 students got started with StraighterLine last year.
StraighterLine takes the worry out of credit transfer with a College Savings Network of nearly 100 accredited colleges that have evaluated and accepted StraighterLine courses.
Having also been evaluated and recommended by the American Council of Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT), StraighterLine courses will also be considered by more than 2,000 other colleges and universities for transfer to their degree programs upon request.
