The “CEO Leadership Forum for Leaders of Michigan’s Companies Driving America’s Economic Comeback” was designed as an exclusive executive level gathering for and by CEOs of Michigan’s Middle Market (companies with annual revenues between $100 million and $750 million).  The event was designed to share ideas, discuss insights into innovative approaches, and address critical issues important to Michigan’s business community.
 
The session provided a combination of networking opportunities and educational content, and provided a unique opportunity for CEOs to interact with their peers.  The key topics covered were leadership, global expansion, technology and economic inclusion.
 
Blaker was a featured panelist in “The Global Imperative: Lessons from the Trenches” along with Dan Coker, CEO, of Gentherm and Frank Orsini, President of Global Operations, Lear Corporation.
 
“Discussing our company’s global expansion with other CEOs was a very valuable experience,” stated Blaker. “The challenges and opportunities associated with global expansion in the current era are difficult to master. This forum gave the participants a chance to learn from each other. I am grateful to Bank of America and Deloitte for organizing this event."
The Global Imperative: Lessons
Dave Ulrich, Rensis Likert Professor of Business, Ross School of Business, University of Michigan and Partner, the RBL Group gave the morning keynote address, “Competing Through Organization: Talent, Leadership and Culture”.
 
Other participant included; Carl Camden, President & CEO, Kelly Services and Brian Solis, Best-Selling Author, Digital Analyst, Business Strategist, and New Media Expert.  The event was moderated by Stephen Henderson, Editorial Page Editor, Detroit Free Press and Sandy Baruah, President & CEO, Detroit Regional Chamber. The half-day event provided excellent case studies, perspectives and thought leadership from CEOs of metro Detroit.
