Headquartered in Ashburn and owned by IT and staffing software professional, Sonja Robinson, the new location will celebrate its ability to help place a variety of job seekers in fulfilling positions with a grand opening event, August 27.
“Having years of experience with IT and project management, I discovered a real fondness for staffing and helping customers see their ideas become a reality,” said Robinson. “With that background in mind, my transition to AtWork is an amazing opportunity for me to be my own boss while leveraging my professional experiences to help others find their perfect career fit.”
Robinson, a long-time Loudoun County resident, comes to AtWork with 20 plus years as an IT professional. Having spent a large portion of her career working with companies to implement and upgrade their PeopleSoft ERP software, Robinson performed all aspects of implementations including development, analysis, quality assurance, and project management. As the former owner of her own IT consulting business, Robinson managed PeopleSoft implementations and upgrades, including the staffing needs for various client projects. After 10 years, she left ownership and took a director position at a global IT company where she continued her specialty and provided business development services that grew the company. While she enjoyed her work, her desire to step back into business ownership led her to consult a business coach last year. Robinson desired a new opportunity in which she could leverage her IT and project management experience while owning her own business again. After considering several options, she was introduced to the AtWork Group. Given her background in human resource management systems and helping customers with their staffing and personnel challenges from a process improvement, project management, and systems perspective, AtWork was seen as the perfect fit, leading her to ownership. With her Ashburn location up and running, Robinson’s goal is to help as many customers as she can with their hiring needs, and help individuals find satisfying employment while expanding her territory to include multiple locations in the Northern Virginia area.
