Company growth results in more jobs and a second shift for Urbana-based tie downs manufacturer.

Clickstop has announced an extension of hours for its manufacturing team in response to growing orders for its flagship website, USCargoControl.com.


The Urbana-based E-commerce company is remaining open until 9pm week days, and is looking to fill more positions to eventually fully staff a second shift.


“Opening an evening shift is going to provide opportunity for new people to join us and work part-time in a great work-environment,” commented Jeremy Meyer, Process Manager at Clickstop. “This place is changing people’s lives and providing excellent products. You can’t beat that.”


The online retailer began a light manufacturing division in January 2013 and has seen a steady increase in orders. The department currently employs 30 full- and part-time employees, in charge of sewing and assembling tie-down products such as ratchet straps and wheel nets.


“We have seen an impressive increase in demand for our tie-down assemblies this year. Adding an evening shift is going to allow us to keep pace with our expected sales,” said Meyer.


In 2012, the company saw an opportunity to build assemblies like ratchet straps for US Cargo Control, rather than importing products. Clickstop employees manage everything from product sourcing to website development to phone sales and shipping.


“With the production and assembly process done in house, we have a lot more control over quality, offer a much larger selection of custom items, and can get things out the door much faster,” said Meyer. “Our growth is driving us to add new talent throughout the company and we’re excited to see what the future brings.”
