SHRM’s First-Ever Emerging LEAD(HR)Conference Aimed at Future Human Resource Leaders
Alexandria, VA – The first-ever Emerging LEAD(HR) Conference from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) will provide its estimated 400 attendees with an interactive and innovative approach to learning.
The conference, which stands for “Lead. Excel. Aspire. Develop.” is for midlevel, high-potential HR leaders with eight to 12 years of experience who seek leadership roles. It replaces SHRM’s annual Strategy Conference.
The conference’s 90-minute concurrent sessions will be broken into nine-minute intervals of lecture followed by interactive activities such as games, discussions, case studies, polling and multi-media presentations. On average, there will be about 10 activities per session.
The curriculum is based on the SHRM HR Competency Model, which identifies what it means to be a successful HR professional. Specifically, the conference curriculum will focus on the model’s business acumen, communication and relationship management competencies.
In addition to providing an understanding of key competencies, the conference is designed to provide attendees with a better understanding of leadership development and career advancement.
The conference also will include an interactive panel discussion with executive search consultants who place senior-level HR professionals. Fifty-minute one-on-one coaching sessions also will be available to attendees for a nominal fee.
