Premier character-based leadership blog to become division of Weaving Influence, plans to attract new leadership content
Lambertville, MI—The Lead Change Group blog, an award winning blog in the leadership and management space, announced this week that it was becoming a division of Weaving Influence, a leading marketing firm in the publishing industry, effective October 1, 2014.
Mike Henry, a Tulsa, Okla., IT executive, founded the non-profit Lead Change Group blog in 2009 to focus on character-based leadership, which emphasizes leading from “who you are” rather than from power or position. The blog has grown over the last 5 years to include a global community of leaders and authors who contribute regularly to the blog.
“We’re a global community dedicated to instigating a leadership revolution,” says Henry. “We’ve shared many ideas and made many friends over the last five years; we’ve even published a book! The idea of character-based leadership definitely resonates with many people.”
Weaving Influence founder and CEO Becky Robinson said Lead Change Group is a valuable asset and she plans to expand the current business model in order to attract new leadership content, and make Lead Change Group a premier multi-author site for character-based leadership.
“Our goal is to continue Mike’s work in making a big contribution through valuable life-changing content,” says Robinson. “We also expect to be able to offer greater exposure for our authors.”
One new initiative is to feature “Ten Leading Voices” on leadership who will contribute regularly to the site. Karin Hurt, of Let’s Grow Leaders, says she is honored to be one of those ten leaders.
“Over the last few years, I’ve been delighted with the professional relationships and friendships that I have formed through the Lead Change community,” says Hurt. “As a client of Weaving Influence, I’m also familiar with the magic Becky Robinson and her team bring to every project they touch. This next chapter will provide the Lead Change Group with the additional tools and reach to instigate and advocate for positive, values-based leadership around the world.”
Jon Mertz, who guides and challenges millennial leaders by bringing generations together at Thin Difference, is another long-time Lead Change contributor who is excited about the new endeavor. “I joined Lead Change over two years ago and discovered more than just people who were trying to raise the voice of character-based leadership—I found an engaging community.
“From social interactions to local meetings in Dallas, Lead Change provides a platform to engage and learn from each other’s experiences. Now add in a refreshed look and an amazing team, the Lead Change mission will gain momentum and challenge us to raise the standard of leadership to the next level.”
Robinson is excited for the opportunity for her company to expand in a new arena. "Our goal is always to offer responsive service and creative approaches,” she says. “Weaving Influence stays ahead of the curve on industry best practices and our expertise is shared as well as implemented through our new offering just as with all other services we provide.”
Founded in 2012, Weaving Influence brings together more than 30 skilled professionals across the globe to partner with authors and thought leaders to grow their online influence and market their books. The company identifies client priorities and focuses on providing ideas, plans, strategic advice, social media consultation and implementation. While primarily serving authors and thought leaders, Weaving Influence also works with corporations, small businesses and nonprofit organizations. For more information, visit the company's website.
