Apploi, the ground-breaking jobs app and ecosystem, has been traveling the country in support of its sweeping program to help 1 million people find jobs by Christmas. Apploi is now hitting the Chicago area and will be culminating a week’s worth of activities aimed at assisting Chicago jobseekers find work, with a final event at the famous House of Blues on August 28th from 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to everyone. It will feature an information and training session, networking opportunities and meetings with hiring managers. Attendees will leave with new job prospects and access to thousands of jobs they might otherwise not have had access to or known about.
Working under the banner and social hash tag #Million4Christmas, Apploi’s goal is to increase access to jobs for people across the U.S. and even beyond, while providing training and career advice to those looking for jobs in retail, service and support.
The Apploi team will be working throughout Chicago from August 21 – August 29th where jobseekers, using the Apploi app, will be able to apply to jobs with a number of premier companies such as UNIQLO, Best Buy, Cinnabon, Piercing Pagoda, Forever 21 and many more. At these events, jobseekers will also get career coaching and advice on how to up-skill, present themselves in an interview and much more, from local leaders in business or education, plus participate in fun community activities hosted by Apploi.
Apploi CEO, Adam Lewis, said, “Helping 1 million jobseekers find work by Christmas is by no means an easy task. We need everyone in the Chicago area to get involved, and together we will be providing the best gift of all this coming holiday season.”
Apploi transforms the initial point of capture for job seekers, allowing companies to see personality and soft skills upfront (through video and audio questions), hire talent quickly (both through filters and screening tools and instant communication). Apploi also provides greater access to people who previously couldn’t apply (lack of internet) or who didn’t know about opportunities. Apploi’s public kiosks are available at companies, as well as job centers, community centers and colleges, workforce centers, and libraries in Chicago and across the country.
