CONTINUED VISA ISSUANCE DELAYS AT U.S. CONSULATES WORLD-WIDE
As of Thursday July 31st, the Department of State (DOS) continues to experience technical issues with their visa/passport systems and have confirmed that the systems are still not restored to full functionality. While at this time it is only an estimate, the DOS has confirmed that it may take several additional weeks before their systems are restored to full visa processing capacity. Visa applicants can continue to expect delays as the DOS continues to process their backlog of pending cases and should plan their travel schedules accordingly to accommodate increased delays in visa issuance; however, the DOS has provided confirmation that they currently do have the ability to issue urgent visas in select circumstances.
