An In-Depth Look at Voom's Most Important Feature

Everything You Need to Know About Our "Work-Outs"
As you're probably aware, Voom¬タルs new update has gone live as of this morning, and we couldn¬タルt be more thrilled with how great all of the new features and changes are. If you took a look at last week¬タルs post, Voom¬タルs Redesign and The Quantified Self, then you already know all about the great enhancements we¬タルve made to Voom. But what we haven¬タルt yet done is take the time to highlight the most important feature of Voom¬タヤour physician designed ¬タワWork-Outs.¬タン (Get it¬タᆭexercises you do at ¬タワwork?¬タン Yeah, we thought it was pretty clever too.)
Voom's Secret to Success
Voom's videos have always been designed to give you maximum benefits for a minimal amount of effort (you are busy after all!) We know that prompting you to take a two minute activity break for every hour that you are stationary will reduce your risk of cancer, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease, while keeping you pain-free, energized, and focused.
But, what you do during that two minute activity burst has the potential to increase the benefit of your breaks tenfold. And there you have it. Our big secret to success. While the bells, whistles, and features are all nice, the reason that Voom works so well is that each of our two minute breaks is designed by specialists dedicated to making your valuable time count.
Our Work-Outs
Voom currently has four different Work-Out programs available to users, and we add additional videos to those programs, as well as entirely new Work-Outs, every 2-3 months. Users have the option of receiving breaks from one or all of these Work-Outs, in addition to seated, or both seated and standing, breaks. Here's a look at the Work-Outs we currently offer:
Stretch It Out
Workplace appropriate stretches designed to prevent the most common repetitive strain injuries and chronic pain conditions. These Work-Outs were designed to prevent injury, increase flexibility, and reverse the aging process.
Tone It Up
Strengthening exercises that target the small stabilizer muscle groups of the body, which are those areas most likely to weaken and become out of shape due to sedentary work.
The strengthening program will help you to get stronger and leaner, increase core strength, prevent injury, and promote balance, as well as prevent injuries that occur outside of the office, such as when playing tennis, gardening, or any other activities you enjoy.
Work It Out
Fitness guru Sean Foy gives Voomers exclusive access to his critically acclaimed Burst Workout routine. These ten minute targeted interval training breaks can be accessed on a lunch break, or before or after work, and are designed to improve weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, flexibility, strength, and endurance.
Take a Breath
One of the worst things for our health is living with stress¬タヤsomething we know we face at work all of the time. The Take a Breath Work-Out is based on the ancient technique of mindful meditation and designed to alleviate stress and anxiety, prevent depression, and increase focus and productivity.
Each Voom Work-Out program contains exercises that can be enhanced by the use of weights or resistance bands (we use water bottle in our office!), and are designed to be done in the office, in workplace attire, and are appropriate for people of all skill levels and in workspaces of every shape and size.
Work-Outs Coming Your Way
As we mentioned, Voom releases new videos every 2-3 months. So be on the lookout for these two new Work-Outs coming this fall!
2 Minute Burst Work-Out
Sean Foy is taking his Burst Workouts to new heights by editing them into two minute ¬タワbursts¬タン that can be done throughout the workday.
Surf's Up with Tyler Fox
Big wave surfer and top athlete Tyler Fox brings his personal yoga-inspired moves to Voom, encouraging you stay in shape all year long with the workout Tyler does between seasons!
