...if they have a Health Savings Account (HSA) can they also enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?
This is just one of the many questions our customer service team of FSA experts has fielded from an HR Professional. Our team of FSA experts regularly field questions similar to this. Questions like these led to the creation of our HR Outreach program. We introduce our website, FSAstore.com, our customer perks for your employees, such as our stock of over 4000 FSA/HSA eligible products, and our FSA tools such as the Learning Center to answer questions similar to the one above. You can register for our next free webinar at FSAstore.com/HRwebinar. It will begin at 2:00 PM EST, tomorrow, April 24th. If I have a HSA can I also enroll in a Flexible Spending Account?
A health savings account, or HSA, is a different type of account that lets you pay for qualified health expenses with pre-tax dollars. With an HSA, however, there are different rules. For instance, in order to open an HSA, you must also be enrolled in a qualified health insurance plan that has a high deductible. If you have an HSA, you may be able to have a special type of “limited expense” FSA. This will allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars from your paycheck to pay for qualified dental and vision expenses only. Either way, you may still be eligible for a Dependent Care FSA. (See more on these in the Dependent Care FSA section.)
