Finding the right people for the job is a top priority in recruitment, and identifying where your current top performers came from can be advantageous when selecting where to spend your money when posting new job ads. What information do you have at your fingertips that can aid you in making decisions regarding job postings?
• How many views is each job posting receiving, both on your company’s career center and on external job boards? Which job boards are getting you the best click-thru rate?
• Which of your referral sources send you not just the most applicants, but the most qualified applicants? How many of the applicants from Craigslist meet your minimum qualifications, and how many do you hire? What is the ratio of applicants to hires from Monster?
• Who are your current top performers? Do you have easy access to the performance and potential information for your current employee base within your applicant tracking solution? Are you able to report on past performance scores and compare this information to where that employee heard about your company?
• Conversely, where are your lowest performers coming from? Is there a trend in the performance of individuals based on their source?
Thinking about these items can help you identify your most useful resources and allocate your budget accordingly. By making sure that you advertise in places that bring you the best applicants, you can apply a more targeted job posting strategy to increase the efficiency of your recruiting team.
