Our new Mobile Readiness Report: Boston showcases the mobile readiness of Boston's Top Places to Work (as defined by the Boston Globe). We found that, despite their status as top employers, the majority of companies lack a mobile ready web presence and just 4% of top employers are capable of displaying job offerings on mobile. For companies purporting to find and nurture top talent, that statistic is worrisome.

As mobile web traffic overtakes desktop traffic, companies need to ensure that anyone--especially potential employees--has a great experience on their website, regardless of how they choose to access that site. Our mobile readiness report shows that even the top performing companies in the Boston area are not yet ready to provide a great experience to people who find them using mobile devices. With 70% of job seekers using mobile devices in their search, and 53% of small businesses reporting difficulty finding the right people, a lack of mobile readiness clearly translates to missing out on top candidates.

Going mobile can seem difficult, but it's really an extension of your core value proposition as a business. To go mobile, you simply need to translate that value proposition into the mobile realm, with the help of a mobile-experienced developer, designer, or software tool (yes, like ours!). In the process of designing your mobile presence, you'll make many choices to strip down the functionality of your site, leading you to identify what is truly the essence of your business--and what will appeal to potential employees.
