Top 5 reasons your mentoring program is below par
    Mahesh Varavooru
Below are top 5 things which can make your mentoring program below par:

    1. No management buy in. Management needs to support the mentoring program completely. They should be aware of the long term benefits of the mentoring program.

    2. Engagement of mentors and mentees. Mentors and mentees should be engaged in the program all the time. Do not expect all participants to be active all the time. Make sure there is a critical mass which is active.

    3. Program admin needs to constantly monitor the status of the program and make appropriate changes. If there is a mismatch, it needs to be resolved right away.

    4. Ignoring culture of an organization. Organization culture needs to be part of any mentoring program.

    5. Marketing of the program. Your mentoring program needs to be marketed as with any initiative. It is critical to keep the marketing campaign alive all the time. Use mentoring success stories to market your program.

    Thank you and good luck!
