Leading Immigration Law Firm FosterQuan Appoints Four New Partners
HOUSTON (January 8, 2013) --- FosterQuan, LLP, one of the nation’s largest immigration law firms, announced that four firm attorneys have been named to the partnership: Ryan C. Chargois, Ignacio A. Donoso, Corina M. Farias and Layla Panjwani.
With eight years of practice experience at FosterQuan, Ryan C. Chargois leads the firm’s global section and represents large corporations as well as small businesses and individuals in a variety of global immigration matters. He has extensive experience in global mobility and the immigration aspects of international assignments. Chargois is fluent in French and practices in the firm’s Austin office.
Chargois received his J.D. and undergraduate degrees from the University of Texas. He earned his LL.M. degree from the Université de Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) in Paris, France. Chargois is a frequent speaker on immigration topics to various human resource associations, global mobility associations and trade organizations. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas and Austin Bar Association.
Ignacio A. Donoso, an associate at FosterQuan for four years, practices employment-based immigration law in the firm’s Houston and Washington, D.C. offices, with a special focus on managing EB-5 investment projects for real estate development financing. With over 14 years of practice experience, he has provided immigration-related legal services for employers of all sizes, from start-up companies obtaining legal status for key officers to large corporations engaged in mergers and acquisitions.
Fluent in Spanish and French, Donoso received his LL.M. from George Washington University. He has published articles on various immigration legal issues and earned his LL.B., B.C.L. and Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has served on the American Jewish Committee’s board of directors. He is also certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization in immigration and nationality law.
Corina M. Farias has 11 years of practice experience with a focus on employment and compliance-based immigration matters. She represents private companies, public entities and individuals such as medical professionals, academics and executives. Farias’ extensive experience includes naturalization and citizenship issues, non-immigrant visa processing, employment-based immigration, family-based residency, and consular processing. She is board certified in immigration and nationality law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is based in the firm’s Austin office.
Farias, fluent in Spanish, received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and then graduated from the Widener University School of Law. Farias has published articles on immigration compliance and is a frequent speaker for the American Immigration Lawyers Association and South Texas Human Resources Symposium. She was named a Texas Rising Star in Texas Monthly, and is also a member of the Austin Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association.
With ten years of practice experience, Layla Panjwani has represented large corporations as well as small businesses and individuals in a variety of immigration matters. She has extensive experience handling naturalization and citizenship issues including non-immigrant visa processing, employment and family-based residency, and consular processing. She also has a special focus on J-1 waivers in regard to foreign medical graduates. Panjwani is fluent in Hindi and Urdu and practices in the firm’s downtown Houston office.
Panjwani received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law and earned her master’s degree in psychology and sociology and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Houston Baptist University. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas and Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
