It seems to me these days that many recruitment companies are writing or copying ads just to try to out do each other in a secret communication style “war” only they understand… or do they actually understand their own communication style?
When will recruitment companies start using language that the rest of us will understand?
We have recently been asked by a local recruitment company in Thailand to review their policy on ads to attract overseas candidates for roles they have for Thai companies or companies based in Thailand.
Their problems start when speakers of English as a second language try to write or copy ads for English speakers as a first language… that’s when communications really start to get interesting!
Below is a recruitment ad for a sales manager or a business manager or a mentor or a sales and development coach or a NASA launch manager… (I think)!
Looking for a Regional Sales Manager, to be very involved in infield coaching of their sales team. You will need to really enjoy building relationships and performance managing your team to enable high level selling skills and the achievement of sales activity and outcome targets. The team consists of high achievers who are very experienced in sales and who are very focused to gain best business outcomes. You will also contribute to strategy and customer relationship management at specialist level and collaborate across functions to successfully implement launch plans.
I have only one question… huh?
The team already consists of high achievers… cool, then why does the company need a infield coaching, business developing, relationship managing, focused specialist?
It wasn’t that many years ago collaborators were shot… now it seems they are in demand!
