Many people don't look forward to Mondays. But according to the latest scientific research, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are just as bad and equally loathed.
According to a recent poll of 340,000 people by telephone, moods were no better on any other day of the week, with the exception of Fridays. People are generally happier as the weekend approaches.
According to Professor Arthur Stone of Stony Brook University who led the survey, the concept of lousy Mondays should be abandoned along with the myth of Blue Mondays, the last Monday in January. Stone said that the contrast in mood from Sunday to Monday has led to Mondays being unfairly singled out.
For what it's worth, I believe that people don't look forward to Mondays because they don't like their job. On Sunday night they get headaches and heart palpitations. I look forward to Mondays because I don't work on Mondays!
But seriously do you believe that Mondays deserve a bad rap? Do you prefer week days because people get too "crazy" on Fridays?
