5.1 Medical coverage is usually extended to the employees, spouse and dependent children. Few organisations extend the coverage to include dependent parents. Many organizations have obtained health insurance cover for general in-patient treatment (minor surgeries), maternity and critical diseases. Type of the cover obtained under the health insurance generally prescribes a specific amount for the whole family. With the passage of time, more and more organisations are opting for health insurance schemes, to offer benefits to their employees. The rationale for opting to insurance schemes is to reduce the administrative hassles in validating vouchers and payroll administrative costs.

The key characteristics of the proposed structure are that it is based on the job specifications and, therefore, to the extent that the manpower in AL-IKHWAN falls in line with the desired person specifications, the new structure would be applicable.
