HRSG announced today the release of i-SkillSuite® 5.0, its flagship competency suite with expanded capabilities and new competency-based job profiles. The new suite provides organizations with the tools to reap the rewards of competency-based talent management, improving productivity by having more skilled and engaged employees.
By more tightly linking job requirements with organizational needs, Version 5.0 helps HR professionals strategically manage their company's talent needs and match employees to jobs that best fit their skills and experience. Users can build an organizational chart by identifying departments, positions and hierarchies—as well as identify vacant jobs and their required competencies and qualifications. HR professionals can then assess employees to those jobs to determine their fit, ensuring that the right people are in the right roles at the right time.
Employees can also use i-SkillSuite® 5.0 to map their own career paths by assessing their skills and learning against what competencies are required for jobs at higher levels.
The release of i-SkillSuite® 5.0 features a complete rebuild of the database structure, administration capabilities and user interface. The suite comes pre-loaded with a vast competency dictionary with over 90 general and functional competencies, all fully scaled to five proficiency levels with behavioural indicators at each level. Competency-based job descriptions made up of job-specific competencies, attributes and responsibilities are also included.
Technical competencies are also available covering a wide range of job groups, including IT, finance and accounting, engineering, supply chain, legal and many more. Content can be used as delivered or easily configured to meet a customer's unique needs.
"With the release of Version 5.0, HRSG has solidified its place as an international leader in the competency-management space," said Suzanne Simpson, President of HRSG. "i-SkillSuite® 5.0 was developed through business research, the engagement of hundreds of competency-based projects, management best practices and our customers' feedback. It's now easier than ever for clients to harness the power of competency-based talent management."
Introduced in 2005, i-SkillSuite® remains one of the only competency management systems in the HR space that is built organically without acquisition and integration of multiple platforms, resulting in HR software designed to integrate competency-based processes and best practices. More and more HRSG clients are integrating their solution with larger talent management software systems such as SuccessFactors, SAP, PeopleSoft and Halogen.
"Version 5.0 easily integrates competencies in everyday HR management, helping us make informed management decisions and bringing the benefits of competency-based management to our fingertips," said Andy Andrews, Director, Lexonis Limited, UK. "We're very excited about the release of i-SkillSuite® 5.0."
