A recent study of over 900 US businesses has found that the 1993 Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) affects about 85% of organizations. In addition, over half of all organizations offer child care assistance to employees, most commonly flex time or leaves of absence.
The FMLA ensures that applicable companies protect the jobs and offer leave for qualified medical and family-related reasons. Many companies have several programs to support its employees and their families, including reimbursement for child care costs, flex-time, and other programs.
