The application of today’s technology in areas like mobile recruiting, SMS, iPhone and Android applications, video interviewing, automated telephony applications, and candidate self-service can help organizations attract better quality talent, more quickly, and much more cost-effectively.
These technology solutions can help companies augment, or act as enablers to, their more time consuming and costly direct sourcing and headhunting recruiting approaches. Now is the time for HR and Recruiting professionals to start embracing these "no-longer-so-emerging" technologies. The attendance to this workfshop and the follow-up responses about this topic, in general, were overwhelming. Dozens of questions remained to be discussed. However, it is imperative that we don't just say, "wow, cool stuff" and go on about our daily business.
We must either be the agents of change and improvements within our organizations, or we'll become the subjects of change within our organization with little input on future strategy.
So let 's do our part; over the coming days I'll post questions here, some of which were posed during the session and some which we did not address because we ran out of time, and I'll provide some answers, insights, and perspectives, and will look to the HR.com commuity to keep this conversation going.
