Verbal Component
Remember This Acronym: TISNT = Topic - Tell the audience what the topic will be
I = Importance - Relate the relevancy of the topic to the audience's interests (what's in it for them?)
S = Speaker - Give the speaker's background and establish their credibility to speak on the topic
N = Name - Say the speaker's name at the very end, and be sure you pronounce it correctly
Nonverbal Component
Remember This Acronym: PCTSL
Position - Have the speaker ready to come on
Clap - Cue the audience to start the applause
Turn - Turn and greet the speaker
Shake Hands - Welcome the speaker and turn over control
Leave - Exit the stage area
Conclusion
This process can work in informal sessions too, simply eliminate the formalities of standing, clapping and shaking hands. The best introductions are brief and interesting.Be creative. Interview the speaker ahead of time and incorporate one or two unique facts about their background, experience or personal life.
