You've longed to quit your job so you can get away from your horrible boss. Finally, the day came when you left the corporate world behind and went out on your own. But it's a fact that some people, though they become self-employed have actually created another job for themselves instead of a freedom business. Some of them even become horrible bosses themselves!
A recent survey of over 400 workers found that nearly half of them worked for a horrible boss. But unlike in the movie "Horrible Bosses" where the disgruntled employees plot to get rid of their bosses, in real life most people put up with it and learn to adjust.
A little more than half of the workers surveyed, 60 percent, said they continued to stay on the job, while a small percentage, 11 percent, quit immediately with nothing else lined up. The rest planned their escape route by finding another job first before leaving.
Here are five common types of horrible bosses:
1. The manager who can't delegate and can't trust. They are the ones who double check your work to make sure it's done the way they themselves would have done it.
2.They give absolutely no clear direction, so workers waste time fumbling around trying to guess what to do next.
3. The bully.
4. They take credit for workers' ideas and successful projects, except, of course, when things go wrong.
5. Jekyll and Hyde. One minute they are good, next minute they are evil.
So, what kind of boss are you? Please do share!
