Kansas Governor Sam Brownback recently signed House Bill 2134 into law, enacting big changes to the state's Workers' Compensation law. The changes require Kansas employers to display an updated state labor law poster.
The Wichita Business Journal said the new law creates "the most sweeping changes to the workers' comp law since 1993." The new law took effect May 15.
Among the significant changes, the new law requires employees to notify employers immediately of accidents or injuries. The Kansas labor law poster, which has been almost completely rewritten, summarizes the new requirements regarding when and how employees must notify their employers of accidents or injuries.
To be compliant with Kansas labor law, employers in the state are required to display the revised Kansas labor law poster in conspicuous areas.
