Almost half of all working women have no financial backup in the event they are unable to work. This according to a women and protection report by Bright Grey, protection specialists.
Out of 2,010 adults surveyed in the UK, almost half of working women said they were the breadwinner and financial decision-maker in their household, compared to a little over half of men. But 16 percent of women admitted not having a savings account, and 35 percent don't have a pension plan in place, compared to 30 percent of working men. Most women, 84 percent, don't have income protection.
According to the report, women are putting themselves at risk by not protecting their income in some way, especially being the breadwinner in the household.
