Congress has approved legislation that in effect restores unemployment benefits to eligible claimants for six more months to the week of November 27, 2010.
In Texas, thousands of claimants had exhausted their benefits due to the previous deadline. Now the Texas Workforce Commission has advised that claimants continue to request payment so that they can receive payment for the weeks that passed since the last expiration date.
The Commission expects to begin sending payments within seven to ten days.
