Imagine giving a PowerPoint presentation at your workplace one day, when your laptop suddenly decides to take a "vacation", and leave you "hanging".
Having an extra laptop or flash drive as a backup can be helpful. But what if there is no extra laptop around? One great idea is to have your iPod where you can give direct presentations from. Here's how.
Sync your files.
1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint
2. Select File > Save As > Other Format. Choose PNG
3. Choose a location to save your file
4. Save, and select "Every Slide"
5. Open the folder where you had saved your pictures. Add the number 0 before the number in slides
6. Cut and paste the folder with images into the folder that your iPod syncs photos from
7. Open up your iPod in iTunes. From the iPod menu in iTunes, click "Photos" tab.
8. Select "All Folders" or just the folders you want. Then click "Sync"
9. To show the slides on a projector or TV, purchase an Apple Composite AV Cable, about $50.
10. For the iPad, when the relevant app is created, purchase a Dock Connector to VGA adapter to show slides on a projector or TV.
