British Airways Still in Strike Position Despite Court Ruling
    Bee22 Pianezza
Even though British Airways cabin crew have been denied the right to strike by the High Court, they could still stage a strike over the holidays. The recent court ruling did not uphold Unite's ballot of more than 12,000 cabin crew members.

British Airways announced a planned strike over the 12 days of Christmas that came as a result of reduced cabin crew on long-haul flights from 15 to 14 in November, and the introduction of a two-year pay freeze.

British Airways boss Willie Walsh has said that a strike is senseless and unjustified, that the package offered to staff is "fair and reasonable", and urged Unite to withdraw its threat. According to Unite, it is a sad day when a court can overrule the ovewhelming decision by employees taken in a secret ballot, and said that the dispute is not settled. The only way that resolution can take place is through negotiation, they said, or else there will be another ballot.

A strike over the 12 days of Christmas would be a great inconvenience for travellers. Do you agree with Unite's decision to go ahead with a strike dispite the Court's ruling? Do share your thoughts.
