In what some see as a significant victory for employers, the Supreme Court of Canada has upheld a company’s use of surplus funds from a defined benefit pension fund to satisfy its obligations under a related defined contribution plan. At the same time, the court agreed that pension plan expenses could be paid out from the pension fund itself, rather than being an obligation of the employer. More http://tinyurl.com/hrcom-benefits100
