Pay lavishly and risk being short-changed
HOW much are the senior executives of large Australian companies worth? Australian chief executives now earn between 50 and 100 times the average weekly wage compared with five to 10 times in the 1980s. In the US, chief executive remuneration for large corporations is up to 200 times average US wages. Over the same period, the salary for a chief executive of a large company in Japan, France and Germany has remained unchanged at five to 10 times average wages.
