Graduates face grim job prospects

It's official: the class of 2009 is facing the toughest recruitment conditions in almost 20 years, according to the UK’s leading trade association for graduate employers.
A recent survey of 226 employers by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) showed applications for graduate jobs have increased by over 50 percent this year.
The results show that companies are receiving an average of 49 applications for each position compared to an average of 30 last year. It has been predicted that places would be equally as competitive in 2010.

GAO: Recovery Act requirements overwhelm state auditors

State auditors don’t have the funding and staffs they need to meet their Recovery Act reporting requirements, which could open the door to waste and fraud, concludes a Government Accountability Report to be released today.
Underfunding leaves offices understaffed to tackle both their annual required audits plus the new audits required under the economic stimulus package, the report says.

Army recruitment gets poor response

Army Recruitment has got a lukewarm response in Mysore, said deputy director general (recruitment), Bangalore, Brigadier K C Kushalappa.
Though the announcement was made 45 days before the recruitment rally, the response is poor from the Mysore region, added Kushalappa.
