I was looking around online for some good information on the process of Onboarding and New Employee Orientation, and found these items that I think you will find interesting:

Each of these articles looks at the topic from a slightly different angle but in every case, the message is very clear: make sure your firm has an Onboarding process or you will find it takes longer to get new people up the productivity curve and it is easier to lose a good hire.
If you have any onboarding tales or best practices you'd like to share, please send me your comments.
I invite you (and others who share a passion for effective Onboarding) to join Onboarding Best Practices Group on LinkedIn...some of these articles and more are posted as well as great discussion posts from members sharing best practice ideas and asking one another questions.
There are some additional resources available through the resources page of my website www.clearingthe90dayhurdle.com and links to blog posts.
Cheers!
