Senate Democratic Staffing Shake Up Begins

Now that the Senate stalemate is over and the mayoral control question is (more or less) settled, the Democrats have turned their attention to restructuring their Albany operation, which, as most observers would agree, is sorely in need of an overhaul.
The first victim of the shake-up, according to Senate sources, is $145,000-a-year communications director Brian Keeler, a 2006 Senate candidate and blogger/Albany Project co-founder who was brought on by Sen. Malcolm Smith as part of his new media focus.
