Walking Around the World in 125 Days
    Diane Horton
It's Day 27 of the Global Corporate Challenge 2009 (http://www.gcc2009.com) and I've got to admit that I'm feeling better and sleeping better.  Our team is doing great and is averaging over 12,000 steps a day.  The goal is 10,000 steps a day which is the equivalent of about 5 miles of walking.

It's pretty shocking when you work at a desk to see just how sedentary you are.  On the first day I wore the pedometer, I didn't change my routine in any way - I logged just under 5,000 steps.  Apparently most office workers only log around 3,500 steps/day - far short of the recomended 10,000.

I can't believe how much wearing a pedometer (and participating in the challenge) has motivated me!  I'm more surprised than anyone.

I would really like to have more company on my journey.  If you and any of your team want to walk with me, I'd be really pleased to have the company.  I can keep you updated on our progress and where we're at, and we can provide each other with support.
