I was looking at issues of overtime today and this really blew my mind. It appears as though a company went to amazing lengths to avoid having to pay overtime and now it will bite them in the rear, to the tune of $850,000—wow!

I guess it really never pays to going to extreme lengths such as these jokers did. Perhaps it never crossed the owner’s minds that the employees would tell someone of what was actually going on, let alone get raided and have their nefarious payroll practices come to light.
The moral of the story? I think it would have to be that no matter how sneaky you think you are, the government takes a very serious look at issues involving those who intentionally cheat employees out of overtime due to them and it will cost those companies dearly in the end. Makes being honest just a whole lot more attractive now, doesn’t it?
