Verified Person announces new tax credit identification product
    Camille Gamble
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Oct. 27, 2008 Today, Verified Person, a leading provider of background screening technology, launched its newest service designed to help businesses find and utilize payroll based tax credits.

With a 2007 change in federal tax laws the government removed the alternative minimum tax for certain credits. This means that if a business hires people from one of nine disadvantaged groups, or from certain disadvantaged areas, the company may receive a federal tax credit for up to forty percent of that individual's salary.

"For a business, tax credits are crucial, said Verified Person Senior Tax Credit Specialist Joseph M. Scheuner. "Verified Person provides a way for enterprise and SMB clients to take advantage of these credits all with the Verified Person hallmark of simple sophistication.

For the business, this means simply having each new employee fill out a federal form 8850 at the time of hire. All of the work is done by Verified Person whose specialists keep up with hours worked, where employees live and other similar information. Verified Person then helps clients process the paperwork and collect their tax credits. This can be done for new hires or retroactively for existing payroll data.

"Verified Person has hired some of the strongest tax credit specialists available, said Verified Person CEO Jim Davis. "Providing this service brings us one step closer to our goal of facilitating hires while minimizing HR headaches.

To accomplish this Verified Person will:

- Provide customized forms for completion by applicants
- Maximize qualified credits
- File appropriate forms and oversee interaction with agencies
- Retain documentation for audit
- Maintain complete confidentiality for clients and their employees
- Provide client tax preparers with completed IRS forms at year end
