What do you think is the future of retirement transition programs? People are healthier and living longer than ever before. 75 is the new 65.
But the US economy seems to be having a hard time transitioning to this reality. The layoffs of the early 70’s displaced millions of older workers, many of which have not gone back to steady work. Yet as the economy returns to a full employment we find a shortage of younger workers and still a resistance to hiring older workers. Is Europe or Asia handling this any better?
I’m looking for your opinion on:
1. Reasons for the resistance to hiring older workers,
2. Ways in which companies or workers are coping with related issues and
3. Solutions and ideas to what can be done.
