Employee Absence Due to Injury Costly For Employers
    Bee22 Pianezza
Recent Hewitt Associates' survey indicates that, for an organization with 1,000 employees, disability absence costs could exceed $3 million per year.

Organizations do not have data regarding frequency, duration or cause of disability absence readily available, or, where data is available from
third parties, organizations may not be accessing it, collecting it,
and/or analyzing it to develop strategic plans to address disability
    absence.

Without the data, it is difficult for HR to make the business case for
    disability management or wellness programs.

Where disability management or wellness initiatives have been implemented, employers may not be maximizing the ROI of these programs. There is limited ability to measure their impact and/or customize their efforts to address specific health issues employees are facing.
