    Learning is not a Strategy... Executives Beware

    <p>The title of this article hurts a bit. My work revolves around the concept of learning as a primary pathway toward not only improved workplace performance but employee quality of life. In the end, however, learning is not a strategy - it is just that - a pathway.</p>

    <p>Strategy is defined as a large scale, future oriented plan for interacting with the competitive environment to achieve company objectives (Pearce and Robinson, 2007). Learning, on the other hand, is the development of a culture that listens, reflects and takes appropriate action.</p>

    <p>There are five key components that represent a learning executive's tool set for developing sustainable learning within any organization. I call these the 5 "C's" of Executive Learning Acumen(tm).</p>
