Vacations can be exciting and we often plan for months, if not years, for that two weeks in Italy, Hong Kong, London, South Africa, Israel... anywhere our journey will take us! Tour books, cost calculations, budget planning, clothes shopping, food research for local favorites, and more. These are the factors that lead to a great trip, great experience, and great memories.
But why don´t we take the same amount of time to prepare for, or help our employee´s prepare for, business travel and short-term assignments? Is it enough to give them the news about this "exciting adventure", pat them on the back, and send them on their way? Does this protect them from the dangers of culture shock, security awareness, and even family separation?
