We all know that the best and brightest technical folks spend countless hours in front of a computer screen. But what are they looking at? Well, one place that they seem to be visiting with regularity is TechCrunch ...the brainchild of Silicon Valley entrepreneur Michael Arrington. According to an article in the September issue of Business 2.0 more than 1.5 million visitors regularly check out his technology news blog, with a large and loyal following among the technical community.
Most entrepreneurs move quickly to capitalize on revenue opportunities and Mr. Arrington and his team are certainly no exception. The value of the techie demographic to the recruitment community is not lost on the TechCrunch team. They have created a job board - Crunchboard Jobs - that I surmise is fast becoming a highly trafficked section on the TechCrunch blog.
While the job site is new - it went live in early August - and is primarily focused on the Silicon Valley area, one could argue that now might be the right time to test the site. With few postings to compete with and a low price point ($200 for 30 days) chances are good your listing will provide a return on investment. And don´t forget that the techie folks are also potential customers.
Advertising for technology candidates on technology focused blogs is a strategy that can help build your employment brand and perhaps even help uncover your next A player.
