In the last few months, there has been a growing trend among multinational corporations in Asia to hire Indian managers for jobs in Asian countries outside of India. Many multinationals have hired headhunters to find Indian candidates to fill executive posts. Companies such as Colgate, Citigroup, and GE have all recently hired Indians to fill top positions in Indonesia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Several multinational companies have explained that their executives in India have had such a positive impact on business within India that they want to employ these managers in top posts across Asia. One reason for the strong performance of Indian managers is the first-rate university system in India, which produces highly educated and talented graduates. In addition, Indians have strong English speaking skills compared to most of the Asian countries. Many human resources managers have also claimed that Indian senior executives adapt well to other Asian markets.
