Over the past few weeks I have had the privilege of speaking and meeting with human resource consultants who focus primarily on the issue of diversity. I´ve had these conversations for the purpose of gathering information/research on the subject of diversity sourcing.
As you might expect, as important as diversity is - with its compelling ROI - there is certainly no shortage of opinions and research on the topic. While there are many diversity initiatives worth pursuing, the topic of sourcing candidates with disabilities is particularly interesting.
Federally funded Projects With Industry (PWI) is one unique group that helps companies identify programs - near their location - that can assist in the sourcing of candidates with disabilities. If you have an interest in learning more about PWI they can be reached at 202-543-6353. If you would like to learn a bit more about other services that address the topic of diversity recruitment you can also contact Judy Young at the National Business & Disability Council at 516-465-1491.
