Few human resources (HR) professionals (37%) say their organizations are good or very good at talent analytics. And nearly as many (34%) say their organizational talent analytics abilities are poor or very poor, calling attention to a lack of confidence and aptitude in analytics in HR.

The free research report, The State of Big Data and Talent Analytics, is now available for download.  HR.com's Research Institute conducted the study to examine the state of how well organizations and HR departments are adeptly leverage talent analytics and big data.

Analytics-leading firms are more likely to have implemented a big-data platform that delivers actionable insights compared to analytics-lagging companies (51% vs 8% agree or strongly agree). They are also more likely to have analytics-savvy HR business partners, have a head of HR involved in analytics work, and have HR systems capable of pulling integrated data.

The research pointed to a lack of analytics ability for HR leaders and managers.  Only 21% of HR professionals say their leaders are very good at making sense of talent analytics.
“Organizations must recognize that educating business leaders on how to make sense of talent analytics is crucial to their success,” stated Debbie McGrath, Chief Instigator and CEO of HR.com.
