Retraction of HR.com Press Release Issued June 13, 2013:

On Thursday June 13, 2013, HR.com issued a press release announcing "Two Low Cost Options for Certification Preparation and Re-Certification, to Fit Anyone’s Budget". HR.com would like to issue a retraction on this release to emphasize that this offering is in no way affiliated with either HRCI or SHRM. This press release was intended to promote a show special and a product launch that is simply being offered and announced at the Annual SHRM Conference and Exposition being held in Chicago June 16-19th. The following is a Revised Release.

HR.com is expanding its products for members making career advancement easier and more affordable with a guaranteed pass certification preparation course as well as a new certification/re-certification membership level with unlimited e-learning credits. A special will be available at the SHRM Annual Conference and Exposition.

June 13, 2013  SHRM Annual Conference and Exposition Chicago/ HR.com Aurora, Ontario  --  HR.com, the largest social network for human resources (HR) professionals with over 220,000 members globally, is pleased to announce two new products to help educate HR professionals and enable them to stay on top of the latest best practices and standards.

Currently, the national pass rates are only 59% for PHR, and 48% for SPHR – depicting how challenging these exams are to write. HR.com has teamed up with The Human Resource Certification Preparation (HRCP) Program to facilitate an instructor-led course, blended with experienced HR.com personnel, offering 30 to 36 hours of individual guidance and instruction. This Preparation Course package offered by HR.com is so comprehensive and effective that HR.com is guaranteeing the participants will pass their PHR/SPHR online exam, or HR.com will return the entire cost of the Preparation Course.

“Attending a PHR/SPHR prep course can be a highly effective way to prepare for the certification exam”, says Terri Zaugg, HRCP’s business manager. “Not only do you have an instructor whose knowledge or expertise may exceed your own, but their experience in helping others prepare for the exam is of great value. Working together with a peer group provides support and encouragement, as well collective experience to draw from throughout the duration of the course.”

Registration also includes the HRCP Program which is comprised of six units covering all functional areas tested on the exam, hundreds of flash cards, and online access to over 800 practice questions. The virtual classes are small and personal (12-15 students per online class) and very flexible scheduling allows registrants to conveniently fit the course into their busy calendar. The next series of classes begins in July to prepare for the December exam session. For more information on the course or future dates, visit Certification Preparation Info Page here.

A growing number of HR professionals are seeking career advancement, increased job security, and overall expanded knowledge in best practices and core principles of HR management. HRCI is the global leader in the HR space for certification, which is one of the most effective ways for HR professionals to set themselves apart from others by showcasing their commitment.

In addition to the PHR/SPHR test preparation program, HR.com is also announcing the most comprehensive offering of re-certification credits. HR professionals are now able to obtain all the required re-certification credits (webcasts and e-learning credits) for HRCI re-certification, WorldatWork credits where applicable, as well as credits for IHR certification across 23 specialty areas.

HR professionals looking to certify can compare HR.com to other suppliers’ offerings:

    - HR.com webcasts also count towards WorldatWork and IHR Certification programs

HR.com Announces the most comprehensive Industry Buyer’s Guide with Crowd Sourced Ratings for Products, Services, and Educational Offerings from Over 3,300 HR Companies.

This significantly improved virtual HR.com Buyer’s Guide will soon provide a multi-dimensional assessment and showcase of real-time reviews and ratings of HR suppliers listed by area of HR specialty, allowing both vendors and customers to benefit.

“HR.com's buyer’s guide is a Trip Advisor "like" format for a service that offers an alternative to the traditional analyst model”, says Jeff Nugent CEO of Contingent Workforce Solutions. “A buyer’s guide based on feedback sourced from the crowd gives a more realistic view of the offerings and service levels of the various HR suppliers. Using the crowd versus vendor paid research of a single analyst is an exciting way to give buyers a transparent view of alternative suppliers and real customer adoption.”

This enhanced guide offers the most extensive listing of both HR suppliers (3,300+) and their respective products (4,400+) in the industry. The interactive nature of this guide allows for real-time rankings and ratings of vendors that will produce the Industry top-20 list driven by consumer feedback each quarter. HR professionals will be able to filter results to find metrics similar to theirs including the ability to sort client ratings based on company size, industry vertical, geographical scope. Suppliers of HR services are encouraged to update their product guide listing for no charge and add additional products, and service offerings to their listings at no charge. Product version tracking is also accounted for in this new system which enables vendors to show significant improvements in product lines.

“Too often innovative and up and coming suppliers such as Provade cannot get the attention of Industry Influencers without large fees. This platform gives us the ability to showcase our satisfied clients and connect potential new system buyers to existing clients. It also helps connect our clients and offer them an ability to influence future product development which helps all of our community and development cycles”, stated Freddy Vaca, SVP, Sales & Strategy Provade.

Currently this product is free of charge for both HR vendors and suppliers but HR vendors are not able to rate their own products or their own companies. Any HR professional is required to have a valid company domain name in their email to provide ratings.

habachat.com, your local town's social network, is attempting to break Four Guinness World Records while raising money for hometown hockey on November 10th, 2012.

On November 10th, we are looking for pub-crawlers for our first community challenge and social fundraiser, the Canadian Home Town Hockey Pub Crawl. All participating bars will donate proceeds to local hockey initiatives. In addition, for each drink purchased at eligible bars, individuals have an opportunity to win magnificent prizes.  For teams looking to raise money, this is a simple fundraiser where they can build team spirit, have lots of fun, be part of four world records and retain all funds raised by their team just by selling raffle tickets for chance to win over $25,000 in prizes.

We are looking to gather over 5,000 participants to break the current largest pub crawl world record set in Australia with 4,718 in June 2009.
At each bar, crawlers will be scanned with their unique QR code (provided for free upon registration) in an attempt to track and break the following four Guinness World Records:
    1.    The Largest Pub Crawl. (Over 4,800 people needed to break current record)
    2.    The Longest Pub Crawl, 150 Miles from 1 Yonge Street to bars in Orillia – a new record.
    3.    The Most Funds Raised on a Pub Crawl as part of a fundraiser.
    4.    And the Most Charitable Funds Raised for Home Town Hockey in a pub crawl – A new record.

“Hockey, although in the hearts of all Canadians, is a sport declining in registration, because of aging demographics and rising costs. The money raised at bars will be used to award hockey scholarships in their local markets to kids who cannot afford to play hockey.“, says Debbie McGrath, CEO of habachat.

Participation is free of charge.  A list of local bars participating will be available on the website 4 days in advance of the event. Any bar is welcome to participate and be part of the world record.
