Hay, What is it good for?
The Hay Guide Chart was one of the first and, for a long period of time, one of the most prevalent methods of job evaluation used by organizations. It is a point factor system that relies on three components: know-how, problem solving and accountability. With its flexible approach and its ability to provide calibration against other positions inside the organization, the Hay Methodology rode roughshod over most other forms of job evaluation until the late 1980s.

At what age should one retire? Do you believe in working until way into the 70s? Or does the buck stop at age 65? The French government recently passed a controversial bill, amidst a stormy session, that will raise the retirement age from 60 to 62 by 2018. This caused more than two million workers to take to the streets protesting this proposal. Union leaders have threatened a nationwide open-ended strike if it becomes law.
